There is a saying, "IT'S BETTER IN THE BAHAMAS" and we agree!
Harbour Island in the Bahamas is a special place for many reasons, especially the pink silky sandy beaches, the friendly people, and the unique culture on this tiny slice of heaven. Stephanie recently traveled to Harbour Island for Figue's upcoming editorial photoshoot and wanted to share her recommendations for a trip to Briland (as the locals refer to the island!)
WHAT TO PACK...
The vibe of the island is colorful, casual and laid back... you definitely do not need to pack heels. Go barefoot on the beach and pack a pair of sandals or two.
Kaftans are perfect to wear at sunrise or sunset.
Shop our Tara Kaftan here.
Must pack: a large sun hat and sunglasses - Harbour Island is full of usnshine.
Stephanie always carries a Pareo with her to stay warm on the plane, then to wear as a cover-up to the beach.
Lastly, pack some flowy dresses for exploring around town or a delicious dinner out.
Shop our Xiomara Short Dress here.
WHERE TO STAY...
Stephanie’s favorite hotels on the island are The Dunmore (which is also great for lunch or dinner), The Ocean View Club, or Coral Sands.
You can also rent a house through Dunmore Realty
WHERE TO EAT…

Dinner: The Rockhouse, Da Vine Sushi, Acquapazza (Italian in Romora Bay), and The Landing (which has an awesome bar too!)
WHAT TO DO…
One of Stephanie’s favorite things to do on the island is take an early morning walk on the beaches in the perfect silky, pink sand.

Inside the Sugar Mill
Hire a boat and spend the afternoon feeding sea turtles on the coast of North Eleuthera...an incredible experience!
Watch the sunset and have a cocktail at Elbow Room, which is right on the harbor.
Best massage on the island is Sheryll Thompson, and she will even come to you! Be sure to book at least 48 hours in advance, 242-557-9822
